2015 Pocket Flag Upcycling Project

We made more pocket flags this year, but this time, we used flag at were going to be thrown away! Yikes! These flags were smaller and a littler harder to fold, but we managed to make over 40 flags in one hour! So proud of my girls! Today, they participated in a US Citizenship Ceremony. We distributed goodies (SWAPs, pocket flags, and US Constitutions) to new US citizens from 45 different countries!

2015 Adopted Fire Station

This year we adopted a Fire Station for the Holidays! Orange County Fire Station 41 in Orlando, FL is a home-away-from-home for 25-30 incredible Fire Fighters. So far, our troop has made two visits to the station. We got the royal treatment on our first visit with a station tour, ladder demonstration, and poll sliding experience (not the girls, the fire fighters). We left lots of holiday goodies for the entire team.

2014 The Great Girl Scout Gala

The girls earned their Bronze Award in May 2014. Their service project was a day of pampering and talent for the senior ladies at the Salvation Army William and Catherine Booth Towers in Orlando. The girls painted nails, served food, and held a talent show for 25+ residents. I'm not sure who had more fun, the girls or the ladies. Maybe both! I'm so proud of my troop. They will be Cadettes next year.

2013 Ringing the Bell for the Salvation Army

This holiday season, we took shifts at our local Publix to ring the bell for the Salvation Army. Here is Samantha by the kettle. We had so much fun! Please support your local Salvation Army. This organization does so much to help the community!

Brownie Troop 2091 celebrated 100 years of Girl Scouting with a special parent presentation. The girls portrayed the first Girl Scout meeting (held on March 12, 1912) and performed a choreographed dance to "Ignite." Way to go girls!
