Because We Care

2014 The Great Girl Scout Gala

The girls earned their Bronze Award in May 2014. Their service project was a day of pampering and talent for the senior ladies at the Salvation Army William and Catherine Booth Towers in Orlando. The girls painted nails, served food, and held a talent show for 25+ residents. I'm not sure who had more fun, the girls or the ladies. Maybe both! I'm so proud of my troop. They will be Cadettes next year.

2013 Ringing the Bell for the Salvation Army

This holiday season, we took shifts at our local Publix to ring the bell for the Salvation Army. Here is Samantha by the kettle. We had so much fun! Please support your local Salvation Army. This organization does so much to help the community!

2012 Brownie Troop 2091 Presentation
Brownie Troop 2091 celebrated 100 years of Girl Scouting with a special parent presentation. The girls portrayed the first Girl Scout meeting (held on March 12, 1912) and performed a choreographed dance to "Ignite." Way to go girls!

2010 Panda-monium for VBS 2011
For the past several summers, I have volunteered to help with Vacation Bible School crafts at our church. This year, the theme was PandaMania, and I spent most of the prep time sewing 350 fabric headband covers for our panda ears craft. Here is a picture of Samantha with her cousin, Grace. They make very cute pandas!

2010 Supporting the Local Humane Society
My Mini Me and daughter, Samantha, organized a dog wash in August 2010 to support our local Humane Society. She washed five dogs and raised $63.00 to help local dogs and cats get adopted into a permanent home. We are so proud of her!

2010 Windy Ridge School Fall Dinner and Silent Auction
In September 2010, Mini Me Crafts donated a gift basket to benefit the Windy Ridge School PTA. Windy Ridge is the school where I teach and Samantha attends. We are both very fortunate to be a part of the Windy Ridge community - a K-8 grade public school. the PTA has done so much to support my classroom teaching. I was happy to have the opportunity to give back.
